Uniqlo x Bauhaus-Archiv

This conceptual project was set by anyways creative, based in London, UK. The challenge was to imagine a collaboration between a high street brand and a well known cultural institution. Here I needed to create an identity system and visual communications around this project. My chosen brands was for Uniqlo and the Bauhaus-Archiv to partner up to celebrate the Bauhaus history and it’s archival institution.

The logo lockup I created, honours the unique architectural structure of the archival building. Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius designed for the profile of the building as a row of tooth shaped columns. Bringing this distinct feature to the logo locku

For the commercial side, I created a collection of Bauhaus inspired t-shirt designs that celebrated the archive but also made use of the archival work itself. This collection would be part of Uniqlo’s ever-growing collaborative UT collection.

A concept I came up with to add a fun interactive element to the tote bag was to be used for a game of noughts and crosses when its not being in use. This adds a playful dimension to the tote.
An idea is to add an educational platform customers could access to interactively learn the history of Bauhaus but also how the archival institution began.
